The German S-mine (short for Schrapnellmine, Splittermine, or Springmine, also known as the "Bouncing Betty") is the best-known example of the class of bounding mines within the group of anti-personnel mines. It was developed by the Wehrmacht in the 1930s and was widely used during World War II.
